The Labour Middle East Council (LMEC) was founded to develop lasting relationships between UK parliamentarians and the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.
Our immediate mission is to offer essential context and insights into the complexities and significance of the region, alongside its evolving relationship with the UK, through dialogue, bilateral engagements, events and analysis.
What we do
In Parliament
We work constructively with Labour parliamentarians to strengthen relations between the UK and the Middle East and North Africa.
Insight and Analysis
Working collaboratively, we support debate and provide analysis on key issues impacting the UK’s relationship with the Middle East and North Africa.
Delegations
We run outward delegations and facilitate engagement between Labour parliamentarians and inward delegations from the region.
